Holli Castillo is an appellate public defender for the State of Louisiana and a former New Orleans Prosecutor. She has a JD from Loyola University and a Bachelor's in Drama from the University of New Orleans.
She has a colorful job history, including being a child support collector at the D.A.'s office, a Can-Can girl on Bourbon Street, and a cocktail waitress on Magazine Street. She was "asked to leave" her very first job as a waitress at Shoney's because she tried to take over the restaurant and inadvertently made the manager cry.
Gumbo Justice is her first novel. She is currently working on the rest of the Gumbo Justice series, as well as an unrelated screenplay called Angel Trap, and a novel tentatively titled Lagniappe Nights, featuring a different cast of characters.
Holli was born and raised in New Orleans, and currently lives in the New Orleans metropolitan area with her husband, two children and dog.
